MYSATV

As a way of growing our advocacy, MYSA is providing some material from professional workshops and conference highlights via podcasts. For the time being, while we are developing our approach, these will be available for download through iTunes for anyone interested in viewing them. Media will be available on a "per event" basis, which means that as media from new events becomes available, users will need to subscribe to the relevant podcast. These podcasts can then be replayed through a computer-based media player hooked up to a projector and speaker system. Alternatively, the format of the presentations allows them to be viewed through handheld media devices. To subscribe on the podcast for an event, please click on the relevant link in the navigation panel on the left. For the time being, some of these media files will be available for download via direct link (just right click or cmd-click on the link and choose the "save as" option).

***Please note that large files mean that it may take quite some time for the file to download depending upon your connection bandwidth.***

While it may take a while to get used to obtaining the media this way, please take the time to examine other audio and video available through iTunes, particularly presentations by our American affiliate - The National Middle Schooling Association (NMSA).

We realise that some teachers may not be able to access these materials through their school systems due to firewalls. As a not-for-profit teaching association, we cannot take responsibility for decisions made by school and system IT administrators, as the methods and criteria for blocking and filtering differ between schools, states, authorities and systems. While we recognise the inconvenience of having to download these materials from home, we feel we have managed to provide the media in a format that will still allow you to share it with your colleagues.

We invite you to leave any feedback you might have in the comments field below.

I am having an issue getting past 22.50 minutes of part A of Judith's delivery. Is any one else reporting errors?
Thanks,

Bruce W

Same issue on both down loads

It does take a long time, Bruce. I set it going, went onto something else and came back to find it happening. Remember that there are two parts.

Bruce, I had the same problem and then resorted to downloading one at a time and it is working fine.

I am having the same issue, and I have tried it now on another machine, with another internet connection. It goes to a green screen and the audio breaks up. Am I able to get another copy of it from someone or somewhere else?

Julie, you might be trying to view the file before it has completely downloaded. The files are quite large and will probably take quite a while to come down. So try starting the download and leave it for a while (maybe an hour or so) then come back and check up on it.

Thanks Junn, but I set it to download before I went to bed, so it was at least 6 hours before I tried to play it. I can't find the file on iTunes so I am unable to download it from this site either. Any other ideas?

Hi Julie,
Very sorry I have not seen your post earlier - I am really keen to get this sorted because as you know, the content is pretty good stuff. When I click on the "subscribe to podcast" button, my iTunes immediately opens and the conference screen appears under my "podcasts" menu in iTunes. In my iTunes (on an iMac) the podcast option is found in the navigation menu on the lefthand side of the screen under the "Library" category. When I double click on the MYSA image, a list of the podcasts becomes available. I am assuming that you are using some sort of cable/ADSL/broadband connection. If you are using dial-up then it will take a very very long time.

Thanks Junn. In IE8 the page loads but with errors. One being Webpage error details

Message: Object expected
Line: 1
Char: 1
Code: 0
URI: http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/mysabrisbane.json?callback=twitterCallback2&count=5

When you said you used a Mac, I decided to open the page up in Safari and the page, link, iTunes and the subscribing works.

I have commenced the download and will let you know if the files download totally, when they are done.

Thanks
Julie

Since being successful at subscribing to the podcast, I have been able to download all but the Judith Baenen podcasts. It is so frustrating. They begin well, but then hours later, before the podcast is complete, it fails. I hope this can be fixed so that I can get a good copy of her presentation. I would love to listen to it again.

Hi Julie,

I will email you directly to provide you with an alternate link to access Judith Keynote.

If we are unsuccessful there I will look at cutting it up into 3-4 parts to allow a smaller download.

We will work with you to ensure you get access to it asap.

Apologies for the frustration.

Rob.
