We are very privileged to have an esteemed and experienced middle years educator of Angela’s calibre to take on this exciting role.

Angela has a Bachelor of Education and has worked for the last 12 years as a middle years teacher and leader in New Zealand. In 2003 she was recognised as an aspiring leader and awarded the Ministry of Education Linking Minds Scholarship to research Digital Literacy in the United Kingdom. Since then, she has continued to research and apply best practice in ICT pedagogy for middle years classrooms.

In 2005, Angela was appointed Head of Middle School at St Margaret's College in Christchurch and extensively used MYSA research and school contacts in the establishment of this Middle School. During her time at St Margaret’s, Angela introduced a 1:1 laptop program, infused the Habits of Mind into curriculum and helped establish a Year 10 leader program.

Angela was an executive member of NZAIMS (New Zealand Association of Intermediate and Middle Schooling), New Zealand Ambassador for the Habits of Mind and has always been an avid supporter of MYSA in New Zealand. She has presented at conferences, conducted professional development events and has been a member of the MYSA Conference Committee.

Angela will be based in Brisbane, and says she is thrilled to take on this new position. We welcome her and look forward to her leadership!
Wed, 08 Feb 2012 21:53:52 GMT Travelling Scholar Workshop http://www.mysa.org.au/index.cfm?action=blog&title=travelling-scholar-workshop
In 2012, MYSA will be running two new editions of its highly successful Travelling Scholar Program.

Our first Travelling Scholar for the year, Dr Michael Nagel, will be working his way across the country from 5 March to 29 May, covering a record number of cities.

His workshop, "MyBrain@MiddleYears.com", will provide challenging ideas and resources for all 21st Century Middle Years Educators.

Please click here for full details and to register your attendance now!
Sun, 05 Feb 2012 20:06:30 GMT Follow us on Facebook and Twitter http://www.mysa.org.au/index.cfm?action=blog&title=follow-us-on-facebook-and-twitter
Visit the MYSA Facebook page and "like" us to stay updated on the latest events, news and resources.

You can also follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/mysa_australia
Wed, 25 May 2011 22:18:45 GMT
